Salmon for babies

Ready...
I like to give to the baby a different meal everyday. So, I usually cook for him and then freeze the meals. Then everyday, I just need to choose what he will have for lunch :-)

In fact, I have never built a week menu, but perhaps it is what I am going to do soon :-)

Yesterday I have made him some Salmon. It was his first time eating salmon... And he liked it :-)

Here you go:

Ingredients:

Ingredients

  • 1 Salmon fillet
  • 3 Carrots
  • 4 Potatoes
  • One hand of green beans (the green is very important for helping the baby to evacuate)
  • Rosemary or parsley
  • 1 Tea spoon of Canola (in Germany they advise to make the babies soups with Rapeseed oil as it is a very low saturated fat product, but I think that if you use olive oil, with very low grades too, will be fine)
Peal the carrots and dice it in small cubes. Prepare the green beans and chop it too. Wash the Rosemary (I have used Rosemary, but it gives a funny smell. Parsley gives a nicer smell in case you, or your baby, are sensitive).

Combined Steamer and Blender
I always use the Combined Steamer and Blender from Avent. The steam keeps the majority from the nutrients, and I find this machine really good.

If you have it too: you just need to place the ingredients on the cup, turn into the steam position, add 200ml of water and let it cook. When it is ready, turn it around carefully and blend it.

If you have a steam pot: cook all the ingredients in the the steamer. 20 minutes should be enough. Once it is ready, use the hand-mixer to blend it.

In case you use a normal pot: Cook the vegetables in a pot with a low amount of water and the fish, with the Rosemary, in another. When it is ready, place everything in one bowl, including the water you used to cook the vegetables, and blend it with a hand-mixer.

It is now time to place 190gr in a plate (in case your baby is up to 8 months, if not you can already give a 220gr). The rest place into 190gr jars.

As the salmon is already a very fat fish, add only 1 tea spoon of oil.

Please do not forget to let it cool down before serving it to your baby.

Guten Apetit!
"Yummy"...
